If they ever find a way to drop this car to 3100 lbs. I’ll put my name on the list. At he moment it’s too heavy for me in spite of its awsome capabilities.

One correction: The M3 “grew up” in the transition from E30-E46, going from athletic teenager to overweight middle-aged banker. The E92 represents the M3 moving into retirement – lots of money in the bank, but too fat and out of shape to really enjoy it.

Great Review. This car makes me very happy in the pants. My dream garage as of late has this in it. A CR-Z would be right next to it.

Thanks for the review. Great to hear it still has the performance.

I don't personally like all the "creature comforts" though. BMW seems to have upped this aspect of its cars to compete with the likes of Lexus.

I'm sure it's where the money is these days, but might you ever say a BMW like the M3 is over-luxurious for its sporting mission? Sure, sure, it's all in there already, so why not make it sound like a splurge... meh.

Nice review. This is particularly of interest since I am about to order one.

However, "its" is misspelled throughout the article... A little painful to read...

"USAGE NOTE: "Its" is the possessive form of the pronoun it and is correctly written without an apostrophe. It should not be confused with the contraction it's (for it is or it has), which should always have an apostrophe."

I just find myself sitting here hopping between the success of the 1 series and the huge increase in fuel costs maybe just maybe BMW will start shrinking and shedding pounds. The footprint of the new 1 series is a breath of fresh air though the car could really stand to have some weight saved on it.

I do have to admit I have never really understood the concept of a 4 door sports car but then again thats just me.

i can’t get over how bulky this car looks. it doesn’t look agile anymore. give me a weight-stripped 135i and you have the true “m”.
