The New Z4 Exposed

Straight from our inbox to your eyes. Here’s the first photo (that we’ve seen) of the new Z4 completely exposed to the world (courtesy of Zpost.com). We’ll have many more in the coming days and weeks. Until then click to the right for a larger look.

(Thanks Tim for the tip)

    I likey.

    Great find Tim!

So far I am really liking what I am seeing. The hood lines look great. The side scuttles are a massive improvement. The nose seems a little sharp and pointed in this photo, I will be interested in seeing more about this. Really like the flow of the car that I am seeing.

Guessing that somebody is likely to have their hands cut off for sneaking this camera phone photo ;)

They carried over the shape of the headlights from the 3er sedan. I FREAKIN LOVE THOSE HEADLIGHTS! Good work!

  • Doug

    Great photo.

Any word on whether it’s grown inside? A 6’2″ driver was a little pressed inside the last one.

  • mike

    nice. real nice.

  • Manzancene

Nice! Yeah! now we’re watching some improvements on z4.. that sharp nose reminds me the concept GINA!! =D … yeah!!! I’m really looking forward to the next pics!

  • Nick

look at that lovely long hood. classic roadster proportions :)

  • ZeeVee

    That looks HOT.

Looks like I’m going to need a higher paying job…

  • Ray

I saw the new Z4 in a closed occasion. The front looks like a shark when you look straight to the front, amazing design. And the interior design character is superb. They make everything detail, button, board, console very elegant inside! A great improvement from E85. Of course the hard retractable top is a highlight.

  • RJ

Hmmm….I’ll cast an initial dissenting vote, although I may be won over once the official debut comes about. The nose/grille seems to fall off quite abruptly, almost reminding me of the old wedge TVRs from the 1980s…dunno.

I’ll probably end up liking it…but then there’s the headlights….eesh..dunno. Don’t know that I like that cutline right in front of the sidemarkers, either.

Sorry guys…hopefully I’ll drink the koolaid in a few days when the official intro is done!!!

The E85 will always have a soft spot in my heart and I don’t know if this new one will top it. After this teaser, I can’t wait to see the whole release.

  • ZeeVee

In my opinion, it looks very Z8-esque. :)

  • JonPD

What still interests me is some of the talk of the ///M model having the V8 out of the M3 and a carbon fiber roof, would love it if it were a carbon coupe ///M

  • Michael

    At last designs are improving!

  • Chris

First thing I thought when I looked was “Shyeah! Classic Aston Martin style roadster lines!”

  • JonPD

    Nice!

Can honestly say one of the single coolest designs in a very long time! Can’t wait to see more

About BimmerFile

BimmerFile is dedicated to bringing you the most interesting news, links and reviews related to the BMW brand and it's vehicles.

We believe in the old school BMW ownership experience. We believe in garage nights with a six pack and some friends. We believe in 2002s, in E30 M3s and E34 540s with the 6 speed. We believe in progress in both design and engineering but we haven't lost sight of what made the brand and its products great all those years ago. And yes, we believe in the manual transmission.

We long for the days of the wave and for the days of roll-up windows. Yet we love the gadgets on the inside and the xenons on the outside.

In short, we can't get enough of BMWs. This is BimmerFile.
