BMW’s Latest Concept Spied Before Frankfurt Motorshow

Update #2: It looks like this concept may not be headed to Frankfurt at all. According to Autocar, it’s a five year old design study simply being moved from one location to another. Here’s an excert from Autocar’s explanation:

This is not the BMW eco concept going to the Frankfurt motor show, but a five-year-old design study, according to the company. A spokesman for BMW this morning told Autocar that it is a model being moved from the central design facility.

Update: It looks like we’re getting an early look at one of BMW’s Frankfurt debuts. The concept looks like something close to 6 Series with 4 doors. However from what we know the Vision Z concept is smaller and much more space efficient? Is this it? At this point it’s unclear.

Yet another surprise for Frankfurt? That’s what it appears we’re seeing in this spyshot. Courtesy of Bimmerpost, the image looks to be a concept version of what could be a 3 series sized car.

From what I am hearing this Concept is more along the lines of a 6er with 4 doors. Higher efficiency electronics, light weight build and aggressive looks.

As I was looking at the pictures I thought it looked like a smaller X6.

Judging by the very first photo, in which you can barely see the guy standing at the back of the car, this looks to be a lot larger than a 3 series based car….that’s the opinion of this reporter, anyways!! :) This appears to be a very long automobile.

    Oh…forgot to mention – I like it!! :)

Hoping the edginess of this car will see the light of day someday on some BMW. I’ve been waiting for the not so soft looking BMW design to make it’s way back into the fold. Most current BMW designs while aggressive have become a little too curvaceous for my taste. I like curves on my women, not so much on my cars.

Looks more like a coupe 7 series concept.

About BimmerFile

BimmerFile is dedicated to bringing you the most interesting news, links and reviews related to the BMW brand and it's vehicles.

We believe in the old school BMW ownership experience. We believe in garage nights with a six pack and some friends. We believe in 2002s, in E30 M3s and E34 540s with the 6 speed. We believe in progress in both design and engineering but we haven't lost sight of what made the brand and its products great all those years ago. And yes, we believe in the manual transmission.

We long for the days of the wave and for the days of roll-up windows. Yet we love the gadgets on the inside and the xenons on the outside.

In short, we can't get enough of BMWs. This is BimmerFile.
