Today we bring you more information on the BMW Power Kit for the 135i and 335i. The port installed phase has officially kicked off for new car purchases and dealer installations should not be far off.
The kits are available for port install on 335i/xi E90 Sedans with either the M Sport, BMW Performance or regular bumpers. For the 335i/xi E92/E93 Coupe and convertible the M Sport or regular bumpers will do. The E82/E88 1 Series with the M Sport or BMW Performance bumper will get you into the Power Kit club as well. I actually think that all options are pretty much covered.
Thought it be fitting that today we would bring you some entertainment near and dear to our hearts, The Autobahn. My wife and I are wheels up for Munich for some rest, relaxation, bier and autobahn. The anticipation of being able to really drive on a road is like Christmas as a child, not sleeping and the excitement- watching this piece on the autobahn increases that 10 fold!
BMWNA CEO Jim O’Donnell has stated numerous times that he wants to see more diesels and to introduce four cylinders in the US market. Yesterday he stated that the US will receive a 4 cylinder turbo charged engine in the 3 Series lineup by spring of 2012. This engine will debut in the next generation 3 Series but is also being considered for the X1 and X3 in the US market.
FRANKFURT — BMW plans to offer four-cylinder gasoline engines in the United States in an effort to meet stricter fuel economy rules.
Introduction of the powerplants, equipped with the automaker’s next-generation twin turbochargers, “is the goal and we will do it,” Jim O’Donnell, CEO of BMW of North America, said today on the sidelines of the Frankfurt auto show.
O’Donnell said the engines will allow the automaker to reach U.S. targets before 2015. Under federal guidelines proposed today, automakers will have to improve the fuel economy of their fleets by 5 percent annually before a national standard of 35.5 mpg takes effect in the 2016 model year.
BMW will add a four-cylinder variant for its next 3 series in the United States by spring 2012, O’Donnell said. The automaker already equips its European 3 series with four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.
BMW also is considering adding four-cylinder gasoline engines to its X1 and X3 crossovers and 1-series model in the United States.
In Europe, the X1 will be available with a four-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel engine when it launches this fall. The X3 and 1 series also are offered with four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines in Europe.
“We see potentially a significant market that could get to 100,000 four-cylinder engines” in the United States, O’Donnell said.

Ladies and Gentlemen—
The passion for mobility is in our genes. It is part of our heritage. Each of these three classic cars represented state-of-the-art mobility at its time:
The BMW 328 Mille Miglia Roadster was the 1940 trendsetter in matters of aerodynamics and lightweight construction.
The Isetta reflected the prevailing taste of the 1950s.
The BMW 525e with eta technology already set new standards
in fuel efficiency in the early 80s.
Many of our models have written automotive history. And you know that looking ahead is also part of our DNA at the BMW Group.
The best example: The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics. A sports car to a core, and yet it runs on less fuel than a small car. This is not an illusion but an embodiment of our innovative BMW ActiveHybrid technology. So what else should this study show? That there is one thing that you will always experience when opting for a BMW: Sheer driving pleasure.
Welcome to the BMW stand at the start of the IAA 2009!
Individual mobility can take different forms. Because what people require from their cars might vary greatly. These two cars demonstrate the wide range of the BMW Group model portfolio:
No sooner does BMW sell its share of the Sauber/F1 team to a Swiss fund representing Middle East and European families when Formula One announces that the 13th and final entry for the 2010 season has been awarded to the new Lotus team. Sauber will receive the 14th entry slot as a place holder for if another team pulls out for 2010 or if the field is expanded.
Talk about perfect timing…. or did F1 wait to say that Sauber had no slot until BMW sold their stake- without an entry slot BMW had almost no chance of selling the team as it could not compete. Another interesting move by F1.
Official Release: BMW AG, based in Munich, Germany, is pleased to announce today that Qadbak Investments Ltd, a Swiss-based foundation which represents the interests of certain Middle East and European based families, has agreed to purchase the BMW Sauber F1 Team, based in Hinwil, Switzerland. The contract was signed today (Tuesday).

We believe in the old school BMW ownership experience. We believe in garage nights with a six pack and some friends. We believe in 2002s, in E30 M3s and E34 540s with the 6 speed. We believe in progress in both design and engineering but we haven't lost sight of what made the brand and its products great all those years ago. And yes, we believe in the manual transmission.
We long for the days of the wave and for the days of roll-up windows. Yet we love the gadgets on the inside and the xenons on the outside.
In short, we can't get enough of BMWs. This is BimmerFile.
