While we’ve tweaked quite a bit under the hood, the most obvious change is the new (much) wider layout. With average screen sizes getting bigger (seemingly) by the month we’ve decided to aim high and design the site for 1280 px monitors. The big benefit with this new design is the ability to see photos and video at 640 pixels wide. There are still some small nip and tucks we’ll be working on over the next few days so bear with us. Also look for some further substantial changes in the coming months.

BMW Performance Promotional Video

One of our favorites from BMW over the last few years. This promo video effectively launched the Performance range and we just can’t not re-post it in our new, wider format. Enjoy!

BMW’s Latest in the Joy Campaign: Jump for Joy

We’ll admit it, we’re not huge fans of the latest Joy campaign. More specifically we like the high-level message, we just don’t like the execution. This commercial continues the theme and again, we’re left a little cold.

BMW M3 Races Out of Bandito Garage

MotoringFile Sections: //M3\\, E90 3 Series, Video Oct 23rd, 2009 8 Comments

We get lots of “fan” videos involving BMWs but rarely do we actually post them. Most are embarrassing at best and insulting at worst. However what we have here is something a bit different. However we’ll let the press release and the video speak for itself.

CULVER CITY, Calif.–A new film by Mouse McCoy featuring the BMW M3 may do more than relate to the passion of car fans. If you’re an advertising agency or client in the automotive world, you may have dreamed of an extreme production environment, a one-stop shop that refines the process of producing industry-leading content for commercials, content footage, branded entertainment, and product placement by servicing all of these needs under one roof. As evidenced by a new BMW ad and print campaign created on spec, this dream has become a reality in the form of the Bandito Garage, a cost-effective, seamlessly-integrated approach to car content and positioning.

MotoringFile Sections: F10 5 Series Oct 21st, 2009 8 Comments

We’re just weeks away from the official online reveal of the new 5 Series (with an LA Autoshow reveal following shortly after) and it looks like BMW engineers are getting a little more careless with the camo. The resulting photos from MotorAuthority give us our best look yet of the F10

This next 5 will go on sale in Europe this winter with an on-sale date of March for North America.

About BimmerFile

BimmerFile is dedicated to bringing you the most interesting news, links and reviews related to the BMW brand and it's vehicles.

We believe in the old school BMW ownership experience. We believe in garage nights with a six pack and some friends. We believe in 2002s, in E30 M3s and E34 540s with the 6 speed. We believe in progress in both design and engineering but we haven't lost sight of what made the brand and its products great all those years ago. And yes, we believe in the manual transmission.

We long for the days of the wave and for the days of roll-up windows. Yet we love the gadgets on the inside and the xenons on the outside.

In short, we can't get enough of BMWs. This is BimmerFile.
