In the 4 cylinder there will be a manual option more than likely in the US. The issue is that it (4 cyl) will not be offered anytime soon. BMWNA is still assessing the feasibility. -M

Eh, I know a lot of folks want this engine. But me, I'll take the torquier 6-cyl if there's ever the choice. A 335xd wagon would be my perfect ride. I know I'll never see it tho, so I won't get too hung-up on it.

Finally. That is efficient dynamics - that is a wonderful engine. Horsepower, torque, and close to 60mpg on the highway. The 123d would be great, but X1 wouldn't be bad.

That X1 is a jacked up version of the current wagon - I imagine it handles better than a subaru outback though. It will be a sad day when the wagon goes away.

This is good news. Would love to see a diesel option in across the lineup, i.e. 1er, 3er and X3.

Dan- I believe that BMW wants to wait until the new X3 is launched in the US before releasing the X1, the X1 will make the current X3 totally obsolete and I think they are afraid it will also hurt the launch of the new X3 if it is already on the market.

Agreed, Michael. A diesel X1 is what would interest me, either a turbodiesel 4-cylinder or even a 6-cylinder.

Can't wait.
What's the reason again for the delay in the X1? It will be almost 2 years old before it's available here.

Checkbook is ready for the diesel X1! Hoping to do an ED in early 2012 as we'll be starting a family the year before and need something a bit larger than the wife's Mini Clubman.

Bring it over!
