BMWNA Pricing: 2011 7 Series ActiveHybrid

BMWNA has released the pricing for the all new ActiveHybrid 7. This ActiveHybrid utilizes electric power and engine power simultaneously (mild hybrid). This car will give the level of performance associated with V12s of the past with an improvement in miles per gallon over a V8, and it will be priced between the two.

BMW has packaged this car with performance and sportiness in mind- by making 19 inch wheels standard along with an Alcantara headliner. Additional standard options of soft-close doors, HUD, Rear Camera, Comfort Access, and auto trunk closing make this car a step above the base 7 in terms of luxury and technology.

Base pricing for the 7 ActiveHybrid is $103,125 where as the long wheelbase version chimes in at $107,025 (both with destination).

When I see a car like this on the road I quickly point it out to my wife and tell her how much it cost. 103,000 starting in this case. She first questions why I know such a fact, and then thinks its dumb to spend that much money for a hybrid SUV. BMW or not. I would agree with her. My wife is cool enough to know that BMWNA would do better to drop a diesel in a 1 series and turn it into a hatch.

Man, this sucks! I had $106k budgeted and that is as high as I can go. Looks like I can still afford the smartphone integration, sat radio, cold weather and ipod adaptror though.

Just kidding, but really, why on earth are there even any options on a car this expensive? I can kind of see the 20″ wheels and Rear seat entertainment as you can make an arguement that they change the look of the car and some people may not want rims that large and TVs in the back seats, but man, everything else should be in there for the base cost.

About BimmerFile

BimmerFile is dedicated to bringing you the most interesting news, links and reviews related to the BMW brand and it's vehicles.

We believe in the old school BMW ownership experience. We believe in garage nights with a six pack and some friends. We believe in 2002s, in E30 M3s and E34 540s with the 6 speed. We believe in progress in both design and engineering but we haven't lost sight of what made the brand and its products great all those years ago. And yes, we believe in the manual transmission.

We long for the days of the wave and for the days of roll-up windows. Yet we love the gadgets on the inside and the xenons on the outside.

In short, we can't get enough of BMWs. This is BimmerFile.
