Does anyone else feel that the pre-LCI styling is more attractive (esp. more aggressive)? Additionally, the side-view silhouette seem like it is slowly turning into the A5?

*I just think that a starting price of $50K for a non-M 3 series is outrageous.

Looks nice – lots of stuff from the performance parts bin, and some nice engine management tricks too. I would still lean towards the simpler, lighter and more reliable 328 for a real performance car for about 2/3 the price (actually, that is what I did).

Speaking of LSD, any more detail on the tricks they are doing with the diff on these cars?

Interestingly these preproduction cars have fog lights and lack a sunroof; the opposite of what will come to market- based on what the press release says.

Hm, again press cars with no sunroof. Is there hope for the long torso challenged bmw-files in the states for the option of no sunroof?

I understand that this is a niche, a very small one perhaps, as many people would probably think about opting for a M3 sedan instead. But, consider this: almost all enthusiasts (target audience for this car) modify their cars in one way or another. Some go with BMW Performance (both looks and small performance modifications), and many change the wheels, bumpers, mirror caps, grills, pedals, etc. This car basically gives you all the visual modifications, plus some performance modifications, direct from factory. All with warranty, and still giving you the MPG of a TTI6 instead of a thirsty V8.

I dont think the manual tranny made the cut.
