Washington State Wins BMW Carbon Factory

According to the Seattle Times and Washington State Governor ‘s Office the Moses Lake area just east of Seattle has won the coveted contract for SGL and BMW ‘s new Carbon Fiber focused production plant. As we reported a few weeks ago BMW had narrowed it down to two sites; one in the US and one in Canada. Local and state government also made the site attractive with 2 million dollars in incentives to BMW.

What does this mean? Production of carbon fiber components (everything from body panels to full-on chassis) will be manufactured at the plant and shipped all over the world.
