Hear the Fury of the Twin Turbo F10 M5

That sound. That glorious noise of the F10 V8 ‘s engine has piqued our interest. Where the E39 sounded nothing short of perfect at full power, the E60 ‘s V10 never quite reached goose bump territory. And judging from previous prototypes we had some serious reservations about this new M5 ‘s twin turbo charged V8. Especially considering it ‘s based on the 5.5 4.4L M V8 found in the X5/X6 twins. An engine not known for it ‘s robust soundtrack.

But this test mule somehow seems to come alive under full power like no other prototype before it. Add to it lightening fast DCT shifts and a nice growl on lift off and you have a great sounding package.

    A good sounding turbo?

The engine is a 4.4 not a 5.5l as stated. Cant wait to see the finished car!

A good exhaust note, decent sound from the front (maybe a little quite from the front ehd), all in all sounding good. They have definitely improved the sound over the Mom M’s.

You’re crazy if you think the e60 M5 didn’t have an amazing exhaust note. It has a FANTASTIC exotic sounding exhaust note. I LOVE the way the car sounds.

but the tires are letting us know quite explicitly that they are protesting the behemoth-like weight of this porky thing…. the squeal every time this thing turns is drowning the exhaust note, i can barely hear it…. this is stupidity. the m is late, it is expired, it has seized to exist. they should come up with a different name for their `special’ sporty cars and retire the m badge. this way it is confusing people. it would allow this and similar vehicles to be judged according to some new, non-m, set of standards and values, and it would make my and similar comments unnecessary.
