BMW 1M in Alpine White & Saphire Black (Updated)

Update: 1Addicts user “philip ” has done us all a favor and created the best renders to date of the Alpine White and Sapphire Black 1M. As I ‘ve been saying for over a year, I ‘ll take mine in Alpine White.

Our first look at our two new favorite colors for the 1M.

Recycling a comment I made on the MF Design Analysis post:

If you go to BMW int’l website you can see 3 color choices in 360 view. As Gabe mentioned in the podcast, it’s really a shame they added metallic to the orange, would look much better in a non-metallic like Inka. Based on the online renderings, Alpine White may look best IMO…the non-metallic finish adds to aggressive appearance & offsets the black accents nicely.

I notice the black 1M has chrome around the windows whereas the white and orange has the shadowline, which I thought was more appropriate for an M car.

I noticed in the “part 2” video released 2 weeks ago that there were two black 1Ms and one had shadowline and the other chrome. Given the predicted lack of customization of the cars can anyone confirm if black will not be offered with shadowline?

That’s a rendering issue. It will all be shadowline as all modern Ms are.

According to the 1M PDF brochure available for download, “BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line” is an available option. Looking at the option list, that’s the only one I would choose.

White… But if a daily driver black has a stealthy presence that is appealing. Yes, shame about the metallic in the orange… Cars like this are ‘pop art muscle’ and for that you need non-metallic bright comic book colours… If it was up to me I would have ensured a searing red also made the palette and an updated version of the bright light ‘racing’ blue like the e46 m3 had (name escapes me at moment).

goat you’re thinking of Laguna Seca Blue. I’d have the 1M in Laguna Seca Blue in a heartbeat. Just imagine those fender flares in that colour. Wow.
