BMW 1M: Real Life Photos & ‘Ring Times

The fine folks at Skiddmark.com had a chance to snap some pics of the 1M at a Uk photo studio late last week and glean a little info from its handlers. The big nugget for is the Nurburgring time that sources are quoting: 8:12. That’s 7 seconds slower than the E92 M3 but a full 10 seconds faster than the E46 M3. But how does it compare to the larger BMW family?

It’s somewhat surprising to see that the 1M isn’t even faster given the torque available on this iteration of the N54. M engineers had whispered times close to the E92 M3 earlier in the year. Perhaps they’re being a bit conservative given the price difference (the 1M is rumored to start around 45k). Or perhaps not. Either way we’ll find out as soon as the German magazine Auto Sport (where the other times come from) gets their hands on one.
