BMWNA Unveils New National Advertising Campaign Launching the F30 3 Series

BMWNA Officially launched the new ads for the all new 3 Series today. Some of them are quite amusing, they focus on the integrated technologies rather than the driving prowess of the car but they are a huge step up from the previous campaign in our eyes. The six shorts are after the jump… personal favorite would have to be “The Close Call “.

Official Release and videos after the break.

Official Release: BMW of North America today unveiled a series of six playful digital shorts as part of a new national advertising campaign in support of the launch of the all-new BMW 3 Series Sedan, which goes on sale February 11. Two of the shorts will also air in ads during Super Bowl XLVI in regions across the U.S.: the first entitled “The Big Grab,” in the New York Tri-State area; and the second, “The Close Call,” in the Southern California-Los Angeles, Atlanta and Houston areas.

Created by Kirschenbaum, Bond, Senecal + Partners, the national program features a series of six 15 and 30 second digital shorts that playfully illustrate some of the many new technologies that have been integrated into the all-new BMW 3 Series. For example, “The Perfect Seat,” illustrates how an odd couple — a driver and his much-taller companion — can share the driver’s seat thanks to driver’s seat memory.

Weak, weak, weak.  It is supposed to be the Ultimate Driving Machine and they are bragging about old and commonplace features like memory seats and heated steering wheel?  Or, screaming brat cameras?  Yuk.  Or, devices you can easily get on a low priced Ford like hands-free entry to trunk and doors?  Yawn.  These are all features that would be nice to have on a moderately priced mini-van.  The Cadillac ATS ad, on the other hand,  was beautiful and exciting with gorgeous shots of the Nurburgring and showed the passion of real auto enthusiasts when they captured the inside wheels subtly leaving contact with the curbing!

Next thing you know BMW will be piping artificial engine noises into the cabins.
