4 Series Product Model Spied Ahead of Detroit Debut

The BMW 4 Series is just months away from having it ‘s curtain raised in Detroit and Autoblog was able to get a sneak peak thanks to some nifty camera work. So this is the 4er. The name doesn ‘t slip off the tongue but it certainly looks the part. Slightly larger and a bit sleeker, this car should make a better case at commanding the expected price premium that our sources have prepared us for.

Look for the car to debut in production form at the Detroit auto show (along with an X4 based concept) and hit dealers sometime in the first half of 2013.

I’m not sure about the name or the black trim piece on the fender but OMG I am in love with what I see so far.

So just how much more expensive will this be in the US? A well-equipped E92 335i is about the same price as a similarly equipped F30. Lets say $55k MSRP. Are we talking $60k for a comparable 4er? $65k?

Is the 4-series going to have a shorter wheel base than the sedan? Because the 6er’s is ~4 inches shorter than the 5er.

  • That’s a hot looking car. You can already tell it’s gonna be a looker.

  • Very nice, but I am afraid it won’t be affordable.
