Video: BMW M235i More Than a Bargain M?

On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago tests the new BMW M235i, the smallest and least expensive performance car in the automaker’s lineup. It has the right formula: rear-wheel drive and a 320-horse turbo straight six. So is the M235i a poser or the real deal? Through instrumented testing, a drive on the winding road, and a hot lap with Randy Pobst at Streets of Willow, Motor Trend finds out.

There are 1M comparisons a plenty…. my take is that the value of the 1M is about to take a dive for non-collectors as its track cred may begin to take a hit as the M235i is no slouch.

Spoiler: For the first time in a long while Randy Pobst actually commends a BMW product… hell has frozen over.

      • It is showing up now, so I am assuming someone changed this. It did not show up on Friday at my office using Windows 7 and the latest version of Google Chrome. It also did not show up on my personal computer until now. I am running OS X 10.9.2. This issue which was occurring on this page is still occurring on the Comparing the M235i to the M35 M3 page on OS X 10.9.2 in both Safari and Chrome. There is no URL to a video, and the picture is merely an unclickable static image.
