Rumor: BMW to Create a High Performance i9 Hybrid for Its Centenary

According to Auto Motor und Sport (via Motor Trend) BMW is planning on building a variation of the i8 that is powered by one of the firm’s inline six cylinders rather than the 1.5L three cylinder currently offered. This could give the i9 more than 500 hp and a substantial performance shot in the arm making it a true super car.

Sounds worthy of the celebration to us. We’ll report more when we hear it.
