Elon Musk has confirmed that Tesla and BMW are in talks to share various technologies. According the head of Tesla (via Autonews.com), the companies are discussing a possible alliance in batters and carbon fiber and similar materials.
In a recent interview with the German weekly Der Spiegel Musk described BMW’s production of carbon fiber reinforced car body parts as “interesting” and “relatively cost efficient.”
“We are talking about whether we can collaborate in battery technology or charging stations,” Musk said in the interview.
Interestingly BMW rival Mercedes just sold it’s last 4% of Tesla shares last month potentially clearing the way for for future BMW collaboration.
