Things might be proceeding on the rumored GTS/CSL M2. When we last reported on the car Adrian Van Hooydonk gave us some hints that BMW was looking to do something similar to what Porsche did with the 911R. In looking for inspiration for an upcoming M car project Van Hooydonk said:

“The E30 M3 has a really big fan base, and we are going to be taking cues from it for a future product.” “I’d have to give Colin Chapman the credit for the ‘performance through light weight’ mantra, but that was another big factor for the E30, and that is also a priority for us.”

What’s interesting about this prototype is that there’s clearly no rollcage or outwardly different aero. But clearly BMW is testing something (or somethings) new on the M2.
