Celebrating its 25th year, the “Best of the Best” issue of the Robb Report has hit newsstands for June and in it, they name the BMW R 1200 GS as their winner in the Adventure/Touring category. Among 175 winners, the iconic GS has retained its position as the category leader despite radical changes to the bike’s design. In short, Robb Report is giving BMW credit for evolving the GS while managing to make a great bike better, not worse.
BMW Motorrad has introduced a new Adventure version of its Motorrad Navigator GPS system. With specific features geared toward off-the-beaten-path travel, this new Adventure version can even support motorcycle-bound geocaching excursions.
BMW Motorrad USA has announced pricing for the highly awaited all-new liquid-cooled 2013 R 1200 GS. The next generation flat twin enduro will have a base Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $15,800. It will be available for purchase through authorized BMW Motorrad dealers in March.
BMW has been producing the GS in one form or another for more than 30 years. Steady evolution has seen an ever growing list of features and capabilities. Yet through all those changes, one thing has remained constant: the GS’s air-cooled, opposed twin cylinder engine.
