Update: 24 Hours of the Nürburgring

Nürburgring (DE), 19th May 2013. The first few hours of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (DE) have been a turbulent affair. BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS has made a good start to the endurance classic. As night fell over the Nordschleife, the team had established itself in the leading group with both BMW Z4 GT3s.

DTM: BMW Stripped of Brands Hatch Pole

Brands Hatch, UK: After turning the fastest lap in qualifying, Martin Tomczyk’s team RMG had his car underweight and he was stripped of the pole. A devastating blow- but with Augusto Farfus (BR) now lining up in second place, in front of Joey Hand (US) in third. Bruno Spengler (CA) starts the second race of the season from fourth. Marco Wittmann (DE), Andy Priaulx (GB), Timo Glock (DE) and Dirk Werner (DE) start from sixth, seventh, tenth and 14th respectively giving BMW a fighting chance to take home a victory.

Munich/Brescia. BMW Group Classic is about to enter the 2013 Mille Miglia suffused with memories of a glorious premier. It was 75 years ago that the BMW 328 sports car first lined up amongst the starters for this legendary long-distance event. Now BMW Group Classic is sending nine such models to compete in the latest edition of this historic race.

Video: Looking Back on the R 75/5

For most vintage BMW motorcycle fans, there was no sweater airhead than the R75. The /5 series especially. In this video from BMW, the history of the R 75/5 is brought to life with a ton of great old footage. For my money, they never did a better looking valve cover on that iconic boxer motor and while my current project is an R 100, there will have to be an R 75 in the mix at some point as well. Enjoy.
