The first BMW to exhibit a truly considered design language, the 327 was a watershed moment for the young brand. Because it was engineered to be light (with Ash wood at its base) the 327 was also one of the faster cars of its time.

The same design language was picked up post war when BMW re-started automotive production with the BMW 501/502.
