Rory Reid from Top Gear and Auto Trader takes out the ultimate M car – the M8 Competition. It’s fast, sound and incredible looking in motion.
This of course is the Competition version which is the top of the food chain with 617 hp Competition. The M8 takes what made the M850i so great and turns it up, way up. BMW M have been let loose on the new 8 Series with similar results that they achieved with the highly acclaimed new M5. That means xDrive coupled with a fast shifting ZF 8-speed automatic and incredibly intelligent chassis make the M8 the most capable car BMW has ever produced. The headlines are gaudy – 0-60 in 3 seconds and top speed of 189 mph (in this form). Prices are also a bit otherworldly with the M8 Coupe and Convertible starting at $133,000 and $142,500 respectively.
