BMW R 1200 GS Named Robb Report\’s \”Best of the Best\”

Celebrating its 25th year, the \"Best of the Best\" issue of the <em>Robb Report</em> has hit newsstands for June and in it, they name the BMW R 1200 GS as their winner in the Adventure/Touring category. Among 175 winners, the iconic GS has retained its position as the category leader despite radical changes to the bike\'s design. In short, <em>Robb Report</em> is giving BMW credit for evolving the GS while managing to make a great bike better, not worse.

BMW has been producing the GS in one form or another for more than 30 years. Steady evolution has seen an ever growing list of features and capabilities. Yet through all those changes, one thing has remained constant: the GS\'s air-cooled, opposed twin cylinder engine.

BMW Unveils Three 90th Anniversary Models

As part of their 90th anniversary, BMW Motorrad is celebrating with a swath of special models. We\'ve <a href=\"http://www.bimmerfile.com/2012/11/13/bmw-motorrad-celebrates-90-years-with-new-boxer-model/\">already mentioned</a> the upcoming \"Boxer\" pre-production concept that is yet to be revealed, but BMW has unveiled three special editions of current models, each R 1200s: The GS Adventure, R and RT models.
