2011 1-series gets DCT || BIMMERPOST = BMW Forum, BMW News and BMW Blog Jan 4th, 2010 Link

As we first told you when the Z4 sDrive35is was launched we expected more models would be coming equipped with the DCT. It now appears that the 1 Series has been added to that list.
While we have no official confirmation, we have some pretty hard evidence that the DCT will be at least optional on the 135i for 2011. And before the questions start, yes the manual transmission will remain standard. We will classify this as a rumor for the time being but our sources are hard to refute for this particular bit of info. The dual clutch transmission will be the same 7 speed as featured in the Z4 and additional 3 Series models in the European market.
All told this is very exciting news to us. A 1 Series with launch control sounds good to our ears.
Look for more updates as we get them…

When will the 2011 model year begin for the 1 series? I’ve heard March 2010 but that sounds too early.
ReplyThis is confirmed in the German documentation ! But only for the 135i !
