About BimmerFile

Since I was a little kid I have always been fascinated by thing that “Go”, from Big Wheels to bikes and onto ATVs and finally cars. I grew up with cars and what special cars they were.
When it comes time for most to get their first car it is usually a hand-me-down or something they saved up to buy and purchase, some parents even pony up the money. In my case, it was my 15th birthday and my dad said we were going to get my car (with my money). I argued that I would not be able to drive for a year; he laughed and said he knew and that the year would go by fast. Boy was he right; with his car of choice a 1973 VW Super Beetle in rough shape I would need the year to get it up to par.
Long story short, we rebuilt the car from the (replaced) floor pan up modernizing as we went, disc brakes, one piece windows, widened fenders etc, etc…. This taught me everything I needed to know about cars and served as my intro into the world of German engineering.
I have restored and modded many German cars in my life but a few years back I came to the realization that the Audis, MBs, and VWs just are not the same as that propeller on the hood. I have finally convinced my wife of this and we foresee us as BMW loyalists for years to come.
I have a passion for cars and an uncanny ability to obtain information through contacts and flat out research. My friends tell me I am a cesspool of useless information; that is unless you happen to be a BMW fan.
Thanks to Gabe I have this opportunity to contribute my knowledge and information to enthusiasts in a more accessible medium. We hope that you enjoy this site and that we can fulfill your daily BMW fix.

I created BimmerFile for a number of reasons, none of which was to become the world’s leading news source on the MINI. What I hope this site becomes is an essential daily stop for any BMW enthusiast the world over.

About BimmerFile
BimmerFile is dedicated to bringing you the most interesting news, links and reviews related to the BMW brand and it's vehicles. We believe in the old school BMW ownership experience. We believe in garage nights with a six pack and some friends. We believe in 2002s, in E30 M3s and E34 540s with the 6 speed. We believe in progress in both design and engineering but we haven't lost sight of what made the brand and its products great all those years ago. And yes, we believe in the manual transmission.
We long for the days of the wave and for the days of roll-up windows. Yet we love the gadgets on the inside and the xenons on the outside.
In short, we can't get enough of BMWs. This is BimmerFile.
