In a change of pace from our 1M coverage we bring you the latest on BMWs current entry level crossover, the all new X3. The X3 is the first BMW in the US to have an advertised custom order program. In the past, customers of custom built cars could have their vehicles personalized with Priority 1 Options, that were unknown to most and unannounced by BMWNA officially. From Lemon interior on the 3 Series to ventilated seats and an anthracite headliner on the 5 Series there were some great options that went hidden from the general consumer.
In a change of policy (or marketing) BMWNA is now making these options known, on the X3 at least, as part of the “Dream It. Build It. Drive It. ” program.X3s built as part of this personalization program will be available in three exclusive exterior paint colors: Vermillion Red, Blue Water, and Sparkling Bronze. On the inside, Mojave and Chestnut Nevada leathers will be offered additionally. As a memento, BMW will record the building of your custom X3 as it heads down the Spartanburg assembly line.
As we reported here last month, Martha Stewart visited the Spartanburg plant to cover the building of the new X3. The X3 she went to the plant to watch being built just happened to be her very own (what a shock). Martha Stewart designed her X3xDrive35i to have a Sparkling Bronze Metallic exterior and a Sand Beige Nevada Leather interior with Fineline Wave Wood Interior Trim. She even tracked her X3 at the BMW Performance Center.
Anyone interested can watch Martha’s visit to BMW on Tuesday, December 14 at 10 am ET/9 c on “The Martha Stewart Show” on Hallmark Channel. During the show, Martha will get the keys to her very own BMW and viewers will be encouraged to keep watching the show to find out how to enter for a chance to win their own BMW X3.
