BMW USA Motorrad Sales Up +23.4% for October 2013

October was a big month for BMW USA Motorrad this year. All total sales jumped +23.4% when compared to 2012, with year-to-date sales up an impressive +18.3% as well. Just over one thousand units (1,067 to be exact) sold nationwide in October with the R 1200 GS leading the way, accounting for roughly a third of total sales. R-Series motorcycles saw a +52% growth over the previous year on their own.
BMW saw growth in midsize bikes as well, with F-Series bikes such as the F 800 GS seeing significant growth of +61% in October. Less dramatic but still positive were S 1000 RR and HP4 sales, which were up +4%.
Most noteworthy of all, with a full year of sales under their belts, the C-Series BMW maxi-scooters saw an impressive +73% growth in 2013. Dealers moved 57 total units in October 2013, as compared with 33 units when the bikes first arrived on our shores a year ago. BMW’s gamble on urban mobility seems to be paying off as customers snap up more and more of their scooters.
