The BMW i8 is a technology tour de force that is both beautiful and beautiful to drive. However used i8 values are beginning to drop quicker than one would anticipate. Pistonheads has an interesting thread on i8 values and their various reasons why it would be happening.
Our take? BMW isn’t known for making a two door mid-engine sports car and doens’t have the type of brand cache to support values in the long term. We’ve seen it before with the M1 and even with there similarly positioned Audi R8. There’s also the fact that there are only three cylinder powering this car and despite respectable performance, the i8 doesn’t have the blistering speed of many rivals. But that’s a quick take. We’d love too hear your thoughts?
