BMW USA Motorrad Sales +31.1% for July 2013

Yet another month of stellar sales growth for BMW Motorcycles in the USA in July. Overall sales were up +31.1% over a year ago, and year-to-date sales grew by +21.3% with 1,346 total units sold in July. For 2013 so far, BMW USA has sold nearly two thousand more motorcycles this year vs. last year.

BMW Shutters Factory FIM Superbike Team

News this morning out of Munich that BMW Motorrad will end its factory racing team efforts in FIM World Superbike. This, as part of a larger reorganization of BMW's motorsport efforts. Full factory support for private teams wishing to run BMW equipment will continue, but BMW will cease to field a team of its own.

BMW Motorrad Lineup Updates for 2014

With 2013 more than half over, BMW has turned its attention to model updates for next model year. Announced changes include an all-new "Sport" version of the six-cylinder K 1600 GT, and then color and option changes throughout the range. Noticeably absent from the list is BMW's yet-to-come-to-light "Boxer" model announced at EICMA last year as part of their 90th Anniversary celebration.

BMW and Dainese Partner on Airbag-Equipped Rider Clothing

BMW Motorrad and Dainese have announced that they are to cooperate in a joint development of innovative motorcycle safety clothing for BMW Motorrad. Taking the Dainese D-Air® Protect System as its starting point, the partners will be developing motorcycle rider equipment with fully integrated inflatable protectors for BMW Motorrad.

BMW R 1200 GS Named Robb Report\’s \”Best of the Best\”

Celebrating its 25th year, the \"Best of the Best\" issue of the <em>Robb Report</em> has hit newsstands for June and in it, they name the BMW R 1200 GS as their winner in the Adventure/Touring category. Among 175 winners, the iconic GS has retained its position as the category leader despite radical changes to the bike\'s design. In short, <em>Robb Report</em> is giving BMW credit for evolving the GS while managing to make a great bike better, not worse.

World Premier: The BMW Concept Ninety by Roland Sands
