Thank you for calling it “M1″. There’s no reason for us to deal with the ridiculousness of “1 Series M Coupe” or even “1M” for the sake of BMW’s holy bovine.

the brochure shows that brake energy regeneration will be standard? i am not up to date enough on the entire BMW lineup to know if this is standard on other cars? thoughts?

Those Euro figures include all fluids, a 90% full fuel tank, 68kg for driver, 7kg for luggage. So keeping fuel & fluids but removing driver & luggage, you get 1495kg = 3289 lbs. Many published car weights are dry, minus any fuel or fluids, & fuel alone weighs over 6lbs per gallon. The 1M is not a lightweight, but reasonable efforts have been made to reduce mass. Bolt up some non-staggered lightweight 18” wheels (my first & only mod other if I get one), & you will save some additional kgs of unsprung rotating weight.
