The 2019 BMW M850i xDrive is almost here. In this video we get a behind the scenes look at its final suspension and drive testing in Wales.
The M850i will be the closest a standard BMW series car has ever come to the performance of an M car. That means 530 hp, a trove rear axle differential lock, adaptive M suspension, active roll stabilization and giant M brakes.
This testing in Wales rounds out a diverse and intensive program for the series development of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe. Outside the racetrack and cordoned-off proving grounds, prototypes of the new model have been tested on public roads for real world data and feedback.
in order to obtain information on customer-relevant characteristics in driving situations that are as close to reality as possible. They form an ideal supplement to the information gathered for instance during winter test drives in Arjeplog in Sweden, on the BMW Group proving ground in Miramas in the South of France, at the testing centre on the Nürburgring Nordschleife or during initial racing circuit deployment.
