The Revised 2025 BMW M4 Coupe and Convertible – More Power, Tech and a Refreshed Design

The refreshed BMW M4 is here with more power, new design details and enhanced digital experience. The 2025 LCI will bring a slightly revised M4 to the market with a host of refinements that is designed to keep both models fresh as they finish their production run over the next three years.
What’s new? Well, both the Coupe and Convertible are getting an extra boost of 20 horsepower. The entire M4 lineup is getting a facelift with fresh headlights, laser-enhanced taillights, and M forged light-alloy wheels sporting a stylish bright silver finish. Step inside, and you’ll find revamped interiors featuring the BMW Curved Display with iDrive 8.5, new steering wheels, and chic interior trims.
Produced at the BMW Group Dingolfing plant, these beauties are set to hit the roads worldwide starting March 2024. Now, let’s talk numbers. Here are the starting prices (plus $995 destination and handling):
BMW M4 Model | BMWNA MSRP |
---|---|
2025 BMW M4 Coupe | $79,100 |
2025 BMW M4 Competition Coupe | $83,200 |
2025 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Coupe | $88,300 |
2025 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Convertible | $95,300 |
Under the hood, the inline 6-cylinder power units deliver that classic high-revving BMW M experience. The S58B30T0 6-cylinder motor is available in three output levels, tailored to each drivetrain configuration. The new BMW M4 Coupe continues to offer the driver complete control of 473 hp via a precise 6-speed manual gearbox. At the next level, the BMW M4 Competition Coupe delivers a maximum output of 503 hp, and sends that power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. At the top of the lineup, the M4 Competition xDrive Coupe and Convertible now produce 523 hp. It’s the first time that BMW has offered more power in an all wheel drive M car. The move is obviously due to the extra traction xDrive offers.
The engine‘s design features directly derive from motorsports and include the extremely stiff crankcase, which is manufactured in a sleeveless closed-deck design, the weight-reduced forged crankshaft and the iron coating, which is applied to the cylinder liners in an arc wire spraying process (AWSP). Manufactured in a 3-D printing process, the cylinder head core features an optimized routing of the coolant ducts, something that cannot be realized using conventional metal casting technology. In this way, both weight and temperature management are optimized.
The power upgrade takes the M4 Competition xDrive Coupe from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, while the new BMW M4 Competition xDrive Convertible does 3.6 seconds. No matter the drivetrain chosen, the new BMW M4 Coupe and the BMW M4 Convertible achieve an electronically limited maximum speed of 155 mph; however, when equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package, the top speed increases to 174 mph for the Convertible and 180 mph for the Coupe.
Streamlined enhancements for the 2025 BMW M4 Coupe and Convertible also include:
These updates bring together motorsports flair and advanced digitalization, delivering a refined and tech-forward driving experience for the BMW M4 Coupe and Convertible in 2025.
