BMW of North America released its Q1 2024 sales results for the BMW and MINI brands in the U.S. The BMW brand achieved a total of 84,475 vehicle sales, marking a 2.4% increase from the same period in 2023 when 82,466 vehicles were sold.

Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO of BMW of North America, expressed optimism about their strong start in 2024, emphasizing their confidence in the quality of their vehicles and the variety of their product lineup to drive continued success. He highlighted the brand’s commitment to offering customers the flexibility to select the vehicle and drivetrain that best aligns with their preferences, along with ensuring a superior customer experience through their nationwide dealer network.

BMW X2 M35i xDrive

In terms of electric vehicle sales, BMW expanded its offerings with the introduction of the BMW i5 in late 2023, bringing the total number of fully electric models in the U.S. to four, including the BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW i7 Sedans, and the BMW iX Sports Activity Vehicle. The company reported sales of 10,713 electric vehicles in Q1 2024, which accounted for approximately 12.7% of total U.S. sales.

Additionally, BMW’s electrified lineup features four plug-in hybrid electric models: the BMW X5 xDrive50e, BMW 330e, BMW 750e, and BMW XM, with plans for the plug-in hybrid electric BMW 550e to become available in showrooms later in the year.
