BMW Team RLL Gears up for Sebring with the New Z4 GTE

Official Release: The 2013 season of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) is not the only thing kicking off at the 12 Hours of Sebring (US) this weekend. The race also marks the start of a new era in BMW Motorsport’s programme in North America: This is the first time BMW Team RLL will line up against opposition in the GT class with the newly developed BMW Z4 GTE.

A Farewell to The BMW M3 GT

The M3 GT by all accounts has bee a tremendous success for BMW over the past five years. In total it won five GT titles ran ALMS four seasons and had it\'s biggest win at the 2010 Nürburgring 24 Hours.

The BMW Z4 GTE Debuts with the Newly Structured BMW Team RLL

BMW is embarking on a new chapter of its motorsport commitment in North America: after four successful years with the BMW M3 GT, the new BMW Z4 GTE will take over at the head of the manufacturer’s campaign in the 2013 American Le Mans Series (ALMS). On Tuesday, BMW Motorsport and BMW Team RLL presented the car and drivers for the new season at the “Daytona International Speedway” (US).

Official: BMW to Race Z4 in ALMS

We\'ve been talking about BMW Motorsport building a version of the Z4 to compete in ALMS for years here at Bimmerfile. It looks like both sides have come to an agreement and our favorite Bavarian manufacturer will be competing in 2013 with a Z4 in the GTE class stateside. The Z4 in race guise has been one of the most aggressive looking and sounding vehicles on the grid and it is finally coming to the US.
