As we near the unveiling of the first M4 Coupe the camo continues to come off. In what might be the final picture of the M4 with cladding, we get a better idea of what the production model’s rear quarter will look like. This US spec (note the orange reflectors in the bumper) model clearly shows that the designers are borrowing a page from history, from the original E30, not only with the front grill badge but now with the rear crease line over the fenders.
More of function dictating form than the other way around and dare we say that this is the way things should be done at M? We also finally catch a glimpse of the final mirrors which are more or less a dual wing design with the lower being the attachment and support with the upper used for aerodynamic purposes; an update on the previous generations two winged concept. Pop on over to Paultan.org for additional images.
Since this car is sporting “red” plates indicating they are temporary for export we can speculate that this production based car will be sent stateside for further evaluation purposes where the cladding will almost definitely be removed.
