BMW Wins AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Stars Award

The BMW 3 Series continues living up to its hard-earned reputation as the best compact sports sedan in the world, and AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE backs that up by presenting it with a coveted 2013 All-Star award. As the class benchmark since its debut in 1977, the BMW 3 Series has collected over a dozen of AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE’s highly sought-after awards by remaining the best in the business.

Breaking: BMW’s Carbon Fiber Suspension Revealed

A year ago here at BF we had revealed that BMW M was working on CF suspension components. More specifically they were to be used in the M3 and M4 as the goal for the M engineers was to get the power to weight ratio of the F80 generation better than that of the E90 CRT. To do that they were exploring every option they had to shave weight, much like a hardcore mountain biker using titanium bolts the guys and gals at M were focussed on the scale.

Debuting at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2013 was the latest BMW collaboration with an Italian design house; the Gran Lusso Coupe by Pininfarina. As Fabio Filippini, Head of Design at Pininfarina and BMW Design bosses Adrain Van Hooydonk and Karib Habib worked together on this project one thing was certain: it was to remain true to what makes a BMW a BMW in terms of design language.

Update: 24 Hours of the Nürburgring

Nürburgring (DE), 19th May 2013. The first few hours of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (DE) have been a turbulent affair. BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS has made a good start to the endurance classic. As night fell over the Nordschleife, the team had established itself in the leading group with both BMW Z4 GT3s.
