With FIM World Superbike about to kick off in earnest for 2013, racing teams around the world are getting in their final test laps of winter. This includes the GoldBet SBK Team, their BMW S 1000 RR race bikes, plus riders Marco Melandri and Chaz Davies. With the 2013 R 1200 GS, BMW has done something completely new with the iconic engine: added liquid cooling. However, it\'s important to understand that this new engine is only partially cooled by the wet stuff. As demonstrated in the video above, water cooled in the GS\'s radiators is circulated through the engine\'s block, cylinders and the very bottom of the drivetrain. The rest of the engine\'s cooling is provided by good old fashioned ambient airflow.

BMW is embarking on a new chapter of its motorsport commitment in North America: after four successful years with the BMW M3 GT, the new BMW Z4 GTE will take over at the head of the manufacturer’s campaign in the 2013 American Le Mans Series (ALMS). On Tuesday, BMW Motorsport and BMW Team RLL presented the car and drivers for the new season at the “Daytona International Speedway” (US).

According to sources August of 2013 will mark the start of production for the F22 2 Series rear wheel drive coupe. The successor to the 1 Series, the 2 series will see a slight increase in size and a slight decrease in weight. It will also see the introduction of a M Performance Line version of the small BMW coupe to be called the M235i. Today BMW is taking the wraps off of its newest model the 3GT. The 3GT follows in the foot steps of the 5 Series Gran Turismo in focusing on interior space and utility while maintaining a fast back silhouette.
