Scooped: 3 Series Gran Tourismo Spied Undressed & Unattractive

Well what do we have here? Autoblog has spied a full look at the 3 Series Gran Turismo at a recent photoshoot. The prognosis? Perhaps slighly less ungainly than the 5 Series GT but no where near as attractive as the already released 3 Series wagon it\'s meant to make reductant. Does it deserve a spot in the line-up between the 3er touring and the X3? Let us know in the comments.

Official: BMW to Race Z4 in ALMS

We\'ve been talking about BMW Motorsport building a version of the Z4 to compete in ALMS for years here at Bimmerfile. It looks like both sides have come to an agreement and our favorite Bavarian manufacturer will be competing in 2013 with a Z4 in the GTE class stateside. The Z4 in race guise has been one of the most aggressive looking and sounding vehicles on the grid and it is finally coming to the US.

BMW’s Big Plans for Small M Cars

The success of the 1M and now the M135i have made it obvious to BMW that smaller M products are vital the future of the brand. While the 1M was limited, it sold briskly from the start. The M135i seems to be carrying on that success albeit without the limited edition constraints that 1M had. And it\'s not just BMW that sees the potential market. Both Mercedes and Audi will be coming to market with offerings in the next 1-2 years.

2012 BMW Motorrad GS Trophy Day 3 Recap

A new day for the BMW Motorrad GS Trophy saw the lead once again change national hands. On day three the German team stepped ahead of the French (obvious jokes omitted) to take a six point lead in the overall standings. Hard miles and big obstacles pushed machine and competitor alike.

VIdeo Tour of the BMW i3 Coupe Concept

The i3 Coupe has been somewhat of a revelation for us at BF. Where the previous i3 four door concept was futuristic and compelling in a technological sense, the new coupe is almost sexy. There\'s a aggressive done to the belt-line and front-end that the previous concept seemed to hide. And it\'s also much easier to see a production vehicle behind all the orange paint.

The 2012 LA Auto Show Gallery

The LA autos how held a couple of surprises for the industry and one for BMW. While i3 Coupe debut has been covered here already, we thought a quick look at the show as a whole (not necessarily focusing on BMW) was worthwhile. So click through and enjoy.

World Premier: BMW i3 Concept Coupe (w/Photo Gallery)

Today is the day that BMW is taking the wraps off of it\'s third BMWi concept - the i3 Coupe. Based on the previous i3 concept, the coupe represents a sportier take on the carbon fiber monocoque concept. Production feels like a real possibility given the design and technology overlap with the existing i3 four door. That said nothing has been officially mentioned around marketing timing. Read on for the full official release.

2012 BMW Motorrad GS Trophy Day 1 Recap

I have to admit, when I learned that this year\'s BMW Motorrad GS Trophy was traveling through Patagonia and that 15 of the event\'s participants were journalists, I was more than a little envious. While not really a race in the traditional sense of the word, it looks like its definitely an adventure. So at the very least this year, I\'m content to live vicariously through BMW\'s day-by-day updates.
