Coming off of a great year BMW is continuing the trend by posting increased sales for the month of January. As expected for January, the SAV line-up is leading the way with increased sales across the model range. Check out the entire sales chart after the break.
The BMW Group achieved its highest ever sales result in 2012, with a total of 1,845,186 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles delivered worldwide. This was an increase of 10.6% over the previous record year in 2011 (1,668,982).
Pop the corks. BMW has beaten Mercedes (and Lexus) to hold onto the luxury sales crown in the US besting Mercedes Benz in a head-to-head for back to back titles as king of the luxury market in the US.

BMWNA had us worried. While the race for 2012 against Mercedes is still very much in the air, things are quite a bit closer with November sales up 45%. In fact last month was the brand\'s best ever in the US selling almost 22,000 vehicles. Notable improvements in sales were the 5 Series (finally) +64%, the 6 Series +67% and the X3 +51%. The Germans are fighting on US soil. Fighting for sales that is. Both Mercedes Benz and BMW are vying for every possible sale to be number one. Last year BMW took the crown at the top of the hill and hopes to stay the number one luxury brand in the US. Mercedes has pushed hard all year with leasing deals and cash incentives to move cars off the showroom floor.
After a string a disappointing months BMWNA made up sizable ground on Mercedes YTD US sales lead by selling almost 22,000 vehicles. In total the figures trimmed the lead to 2,748 vehicles, from 5,221 at the end of September.
