MINI & BMW to Dramatically Expand Small Car Offerings

In various interviews over the past few months, BMW executives have hinted at grand plans for the UKL platform. Reported by both MotoringFile and BimmerFile, the UKL platform will spawn an onslaught of FWD models. This will make MINI more long-term viable and will drive the BMW Group to greater economies of scale. Yet just how far BMW is willing to go with FWD, and how big the MINI brand will get hasn\'t really been understood until recently.

Jeremy Clarkson Reviews the M135i

The most well known automotive journalist in the world has driven the M135i and like us has fallen in love with the little hatch. The car that has won so many accolades (and made it to the second round of EVO\'s car of the year voting) won\'t be coming to the US but will form the basis of the M235i coupe that will. But enough of that. Let\'s hear what Jezza had to say BMW\'s best attempt ever at a hot hatch.

Official: BMW to Debut New BMWi Concept at LA

Rumor has it we\'ll see something along the lines of an i4 that combines the general look of the two door i8 with the i3\'s drivetrain and modified structure. Basically a small and more afforsable electric sports car - exactly the kind of the thing we get excited about at BF. read on for the full official release.

BF Garage: One Year in the 1M – The Last Analog M Car?

Every since I could buy used BMWs I\'ve been searching for the equivalent of the 2002 or even the E30 M3. After 6,500 miles in a 1M I\'m not sure if I\'ve found it. The truth is that the 1M isn\'t a successor to the 2002 or even the E30 M3. It\'s very much its own car. Within the current M range and within the annals of BMW.

BimmerFile First Drive: MINI JCW GP

We\'re going to tip our hat here. It may come as no surprise that the 2013 R56 JCW GP is the fastest MINI of all time. Yet what may be surprising is that it\'s the most involving and engaging MINI we\'ve ever driven. And it feels closer to an M product than any JCW created yet.

BimmerFile Video Review: 2013 MINI JCW GP

You can learn a lot about a car (especially a car designed for the track) in ten hard laps on a well designed track. If you haven\'t read our full review of the car, certainly check it out. However if you want a quick, seat of the pants look at the GP as I enjoyed my second stint behind the wheel at Circuito Mallorca RennArena, click play and sit back.

BMWNA To Attack the US Market with Six Diesel Models

Thanks to someone with an itchy posting finger at vwvortex we not only have further confirmation of BMWNA\'s diesel plans but a full outline of the models to expect. To recap we\'ve heard from a number of sources over the past year that BMW of North America plans to bring two new diesel engines to the US market. The plan is to focus more on efficiency and less on power as the 335d and X5 35d did with it\'s barn-burning diesel. But what we didn\'t know was the exact model mix BMW intended these engines for.

BimmerFile Review: The 2013 BMW M5 Manual

We\'ve done track time in both the DCT and manual previously so with this week-long test we wanted to throw the real world at the M5. Commuting, child-seats (Recaros of course) and even a road trip thrown in for good measure. Can the new M5 and its six speed manual handle it all?
